Used parts are the appropriate choice for certain machines and situations and they can save operators as much as 30-50% over the price of new parts.

Empire’s Used Parts Department maintains a revolving inventory of such parts, including buckets, blades and rippers; engine blocks, crankshafts, turbochargers and torque converters; and engines, transmissions, final drives, undercarriage and more.

This Empire team acquires serviceable used parts in two ways. Before worn-out machines are sent to scrap, our shop technicians identify and salvage all usable components. Small ones are cleaned, inspected and placed into inventory. Large components (engines, transmissions, etc.) are cleaned, inspected, resealed, painted and dyno-tested to determine their condition. Condition reports from Empire’s service departments are available upon request.

We also shop for used parts daily via a vast on-line network that includes Caterpillar dealers and used parts specialists from around the world. If a customer wants something we don’t have, we’ll find it!
