The pace of change we are experiencing is unprecedented due to COVID-19.  What remains constant is our collective efforts to control the spread of this virus, keep our people safe and support our clients.

Empire Southwest and its affiliates (“Empire”) understand that we are an important resource to you, the clients we serve and our communities.

Empire conducts activity that has been designated as a “critical infrastructure sector” as defined under Arizona’s statewide order, and also as defined in U.S. Homeland Security guidance and other state actions. We are an essential supplier to support vital client operations for agriculture/food supply construction/engineering services, public health, energy, waste, transportation, mining and infrastructure.  As such, we are exempt from the closure requirements of the various government shutdown orders and, in fact, expected to remain open and serving these critical industries.

We will continue to update you on our operations and have prepared our workforce to support essential services needed by our communities. The health and safety of our clients, communities and team members continues to be our first priority.

      Sincerely,

      Jeff Whiteman
      President & CEO

Empire Southwest has served its clients for 70 years, through the financial crisis, the aftermath of 9/11, multiple recessions, and countless other challenges. Today, our country faces yet another challenge. We know two things for certain: our nation is being tested and together we will prevail.

At Empire, we are committed to keeping our team healthy and safe while at the same time taking care of our clients, visitors, vendors, and suppliers. We all have a duty to unite behind our common national purpose of slowing the spread of this virus. If we can “flatten the curve” through our actions, we will buy precious time for our healthcare system to respond and ensure that this system is not overwhelmed.

First and foremost, safety is our top priority, and we are focused on it more than ever before as we deal with COVID-19. Also, it is important to communicate that we have ample inventory and all of our locations remain open for business. It may be different than “business as usual," but you can count on Empire to do its part to make sure that your job gets done.

We are fully committed to providing the outstanding client support that you have come to expect from us, and we want to share with you the steps we are taking to manage the impact of this virus:
Employees have been directed to cancel business travel and participation in industry events. This includes any unnecessary travel between our facilities.

Any employee who travels to a known hot spot must self-isolate for 14 days before returning to any of our locations or jobsites. This includes personal travel.

Plans are in place for employees to telecommute or to work alternate schedules when possible. For those who are required to work from an Empire facility, we have intensified measures to keep our offices safe and developed additional contingency plans.

We have asked all of our employees to practice social distancing, staying at least 6 feet away from others at all times.

We are limiting in-person client/supplier visits and interactions as much as possible and requesting our teams to utilize technology communication tools whenever possible.

Our nation’s top priority is fighting the virus, but it is critical to keep our economy working. Today, tomorrow, and throughout this crisis, we will remain open for business and committed to serving you.

Thank you for the opportunity to be your partner.
