Parts Return Policies

PARTS RETURN POLICY 

New Parts Returns
New parts may be returned for credit within 60 days of purchase. Parts may be returned in-person to any Empire location or shipped to Mesa. In-person returns are processed immediately, and credits are issued within 24 hours. Shipped returns will be processed as quickly as possible once verified. All shipping charges (original and/or return shipping) are the responsibility of the purchaser and will not be credited. 

To be eligible for return, new parts must be:

  • in new and salable condition and in original packing.
  • accompanied by proof of purchase.
  • returnable to supplier.
  • not canceled or replaced.
  • a minimum of $5.00 per unit value.
     

Certain parts are non-returnable and will not be accepted for credit. Non-returnable parts include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • parts with an * in the NR column of the shipping list
  • electrical parts
  • goods cut to length (e.g., hoses, wire, tubing)
  • opened kits (e.g., gasket kits, seal kits)
  • literature
  • glass
  • made as ordered parts

 
Restocking charges for acceptable returns are as follows:

  • Stock parts returned within 0-15 calendar days of purchase: No charge
  • Stock parts returned 16-60 calendar days of purchase: 15%
  • Non-stock parts returned 0-60 calendar days of purchase: 20%

New parts returns outside of the above criteria may be considered at management’s discretion.


Cat Reman & Empire Exchange Core Returns
Cores for Cat Reman and Empire Parts Exchange purchases may be returned to any Empire location within 30 days of purchase to receive credit consideration, only if conditions are met or with management discretion. 


Used Parts Returns
Used parts, components and attachments may be returned for credit within 15 days of purchase if conditions are met. May be subject to a 15% restocking fee. 

To be eligible for return, used parts must be:

  • in the same condition as when they were purchased.
  • accompanied by a shipping list or invoice.
  • returnable to supplier.

 

Non-returnable used parts, components and attachments include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • used parts with an * in the NR column of the shipping list
  • used parts that are special ordered


Returns of used parts, components and attachments outside of the above criteria may be considered at management’s discretion.


Used Parts Core Returns
Used parts core purchases returned after 30 days of purchase are subject to Empire’s core purchase policy. For more details, contact Empire Used Parts at 480-633-4598.


PARTS WARRANTY

New Parts Warranty
Empire is not a parts manufacturer. When a new part includes a warranty from the manufacturer, Empire will pass the manufacturer’s warranty to you to the extent permitted by such warranty. New parts warranty periods vary by manufacturer and the duration should be verified by you at time of purchase. Most new and remanufactured Cat parts have a twelve (12) month warranty period from the date of purchase. Manufacturer’s warranties for new parts will be subject to all conditions and exclusions set forth in the manufacturer’s warranty. Unless otherwise provided in a manufacturer’s warranty, defects in new parts that are covered by the new parts warranty will be repaired or replaced (at the manufacturer’s option) during normal business hours at Empire’s place of business or such other location approved by the manufacturer in advance. Parts warranties do not cover labor for removal and installation of the defective part, nor do they cover any resultant or consequential damages.

Used Parts, Used Components and Used Attachments Warranty
Empire warrants used parts, used components and used attachments to be in useable condition for 30 days from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase required and limited to the replacement of the used part, used component or used attachment (as applicable) with an equivalent part, component or attachment (as applicable) from Empire Used Parts. Warranty does not cover freight/transport, labor for removal and installation of the defective part, component or attachment, resultant damage (including, but not limited to, damage to other parts, components or attachments), or any consequential damages.
 
Used Machines Sold by Empire Used Parts Department Warranty
Empire makes no warranty, express or implied, with respect to used machines, including but not limited to, any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or any implied warranties that may arise from the course of dealing between the parties. Used machines are sold “AS IS-WHERE IS,” have not been inspected by Empire, may not be in operating condition and all controls may not be functioning.  To the maximum extent permitted by law, all warranties are disclaimed by Empire and waived by you.
