Event Details
Empire provides a two-day training course that investigates the electronic controls in modern Caterpillar equipment. Topics include input and output components and wiring, ECM controls and logic, DTC logic, data link operation and troubleshooting, multimeter usage, and electronic system diagnostics and tooling.
What You Will Learn:
- Input components and wiring (switches, sensors, senders)
- Pull-up voltage
- Output components and wiring (solenoids, lamps, relays)
- Caterpillar ECM types
- ECM logic and I/O drivers
- DTC logic
- Proper multimeter usage
- Schematic searching
- Diagnostic tooling
- Diagnostic process
While Empire instructors teach on Cat equipment, the knowledge gained from the course can be applied to other heavy equipment manufacturers.
