Empire offers a two-day training course designed for service technicians to gain knowledge and develop troubleshooting skills on Tier 4 Interim and Tier 4 Final Emissions Systems. This course identifies EPA regulations and Caterpillar solutions to meet the regulations. This course will cover component identification and systems operation for the purpose of troubleshooting and repairing Tier 4 emissions systems. Operator interface and inducement strategies will also be covered for troubleshooting purposes.

• How to perform diagnostic tests using Electronic Technician (ET)
• How to test the ARD fuel nozzle heater circuit
• Operator interface symbols
• How to test Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)
• How to utilize the 441-0451 DEF Tool Group to test the SCR system
• Differences between the components of Tier 4 Interim and Final systems

While Empire instructors teach on Cat equipment, the knowledge gained from the course can be applied to other heavy equipment manufacturers.
