Empire offers a full-day training course that provides hands-on training with Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET), the factory-approved diagnostic software for electronically controlled Caterpillar engines and machines. Participants will learn how to connect to equipment, read and clear fault codes, view live data, perform diagnostic tests, and configure parameters. Emphasis is placed on safe, accurate troubleshooting and understanding how electronic controls integrate with machine systems.

What You Will Learn:

How to establish communication with multiple machine ECM’s

• How to download, save, and compare Product Status Reports
• How to diagnose equipment issues by correlating active or logged diagnostic and event codes
• How to integrate ET diagnostics with SIS 2.0 service procedures and schematics
• How to detect abnormal trends by monitoring and analyzing real-time status parameters
• How to target system performance by configuring and capturing data with Data Logger
• How to perform service calibrations:
  • Injector trim calibrations
  • Transmission fill calibrations
• How to execute advanced service tests such as:
  • Cylinder cutout, and injector solenoid tests on the engine
  • Wiggle test to check for broken wires
  • Various system tests including fuel, transmission, and emissions
